Metallurgical Technician – 4-Month Contract

Job Description

We are looking for a Metallurgical Technician for a four (4)-month contract, with the possibility of extension depending on evolving needs.

The selected candidate will primarily be responsible for conducting and monitoring laboratory cyanidation tests, as well as analyzing and interpreting metallurgical results.

Employment Type: Temporary contract – 4 months with possibility of extension
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Start Date: September 2026

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and conduct metallurgical laboratory tests;
  • Conduct cyanidation tests and monitor reaction kinetics;
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze samples according to established procedures;
  • Compile, validate, and process experimental data;
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports;
  • Present test results and observations;
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Job Requirements

  • College diploma (DEC) in metallurgy, chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field (required)
  • Experience in a metallurgical laboratory (strong asset);
  • Experience in hydrometallurgy or gold ore cyanidation (an asset);

Candidate Profile

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills;
  • Proficiency in computer tools, particularly Excel and data processing software.
